Elbrus - Europe's highest
Elbrus is Europe's highest mountain, at 5642m above sea level, and lies in the Caucasus region of Russia near the border with Georgia. The mountain region offers everything, from the lush green valleys, to the ice and snow and ‘thin air' on the summit. The trip is a brilliant ‘altitude acclimatisation' opportunity. We travel via Moscow to a small airport called Mineralnye Vody. It takes a further three hours travel to reach the Azau valley, where the road ends and our adventure begins.
